You can't talk about Guipúzcoa without mentioning the sea and the villages that dot its rugged coastline. The longest beach on this coastline can be found in Zarautz. Its 2.5 kilometres are one of the favourite meeting points for surf lovers in the province. Please note that if you are not a boarder, you are also welcome.
Continue a little further west until you reach Getaria. There, its lighthouse awaits you, solitary and brave, facing a Bay of Biscay that sometimes roars so loud that it's scary. And even further out, the sea and the rock have been waging a war of erosion for years. The result? A flysch that will exhaust the memory of your smartphone.
