To the south of Sierra de Guadarrama is San Lorenzo del Escorial. There you will find one of the most beautiful monasteries in Spain, listed as World Heritage and dating from the 16th century. In it you will discover its particular Sistine Chapel, the Royal Library, the Basilica and above all the majestic gardens.
Another of the most charming villages in Madrid province is Manzanares el Real. You will be able to see Mendoza’s family castle, one of the best preserved castles in the Iberian Peninsula. Dating from the 15th century and in Mudejar style, it was catalogued as a historical-artistic monument.
