About 10 kilometers from the city of Madrid, within the metropolitan area itself, is the municipality of Pozuelo de Alarcón. An enclave in which there was a gradual transformation from an agricultural place to an industrialized area with residences and shops. In the 60s it had just over 7,000 inhabitants, reaching 25,000 in the 80s. The population has several shopping centers for people who live or simply visit the town in search of needs.
Pozuelo de Alarcón has several urban and peripheral parks because the place is close to nature. Two of these parks, Monte Pozuelo and the Somosaguas forest, are the natural continuation of Monte de El Pardo and Casa de Campo. In Pozuelo de Alarcón, you will also find the Spanish Radio Television complex called the city of the image, one of the fields of the Complutense University of Madrid in Somosaguas and the Francisco de Vitoria University.
The most emblematic buildings of the town are: The church and the school of San José de Cluny or residence of the Missionary Oblates of Emmaus, from the end of the 19th century and the parish church that in 1940 was rebuilt by the war.
Thousands of activities take place during all times of the year. Sports, culture, outdoor events… Pozuelo de Alarcón is a benchmark in many aspects. Some of the spaces that we recommend are the MIRA Cultural Space, the Volturno Cultural Space, the Padre Vallet Cultural Center, the Municipal School of Music and Dance and the MIRA Theater.
In addition, film lovers can go to the Kinépolis cinemas, one of the best leisure spaces.
In short, Pozuelo de Alarcón is a charming place where you can rest from the daily routine thanks to our hotels in Pozuelo de Alarcón.
